Watkins & Eager attorney Brad C. Davis has been elected Chair of the Government Law Section of the Mississippi Bar. This section provides assistance and support to public and private practitioners of local government law. The section also provides a forum for section members to share ideas, research materials and experiences in this specific field of law.

Brad practices in the public finance (Bonds) group and focuses his practice on financing transactions for states, municipalities, counties, school districts, universities, community colleges, utility districts, special use districts, and other governmental entities, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, tax increment financing bonds, and lease-purchases. He is a member of the Mississippi County Board Attorneys Association, Mississippi Municipal Attorneys Association, and Mississippi Economic Development Council.  

Brad served as Senator Thad Cochran’s legislative assistant and counsel in Washington, DC, from 2005 to 2008, after which he served as state office director and general counsel in Mississippi from 2008 to 2015.  His work for Senator Cochran focused on legal issues, public safety, business and tax policy, and economic development projects, as well as representing the Senator throughout Mississippi and assisting constituents with federal issues.

Brad received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in 2001 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law of Law in 2004.
