Jackson, Mississippi - Watkins & Eager is pleased to announce that Chancellor “Chance” Easterling has joined the firm as an associate attorney in the firm’s Jackson office.
Chance focuses his practice on civil litigation and brings to Watkins & Eager a strong foundation in legal advocacy, research, and judicial clerkship experience. Admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 2024, he has quickly distinguished himself through his academic accomplishments and service within the legal profession.

A graduate of Mississippi College School of Law, Chance excelled both academically and professionally during his legal education. He served on the Moot Court Board and as Executive Editor of the Mississippi College Law Review. His scholarly comment, The Federal Judiciary’s Double Standard: How the FSIA Deters Plaintiffs in Their Search for Justice, 42 Miss. C. L. Rev. 163 (2024), received the Law Review’s Best Comment Award and was selected for publication.
Following law school, Chance served as a law clerk to the Honorable Glen H. Davidson of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. He is admitted to practice before all Mississippi state and federal courts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
