Jackson, Miss. (Sept. 25, 2018) – Watkins & Eager’s Economic Development practice group recently assisted Hunter Engineering Company with its $8 million expansion in Durant, Mississippi.  Hunter Engineering is an automotive service equipment manufacturer that has operated in the state for over 35 years.  This expansion will result in the creation of 60 new jobs.

Manning McPhillips and Waverly Harkins, with Watkins & Eager’s Economic Development practice group, assisted the company in identifying more than $2 million in grant funds to support this expansion.  They negotiated incentives with state and federal agencies, prepared grant applications, and provided legal advice on programmatic agreements in order to help the company maximize incentives.  In addition, the team has supported the company as they apply for tax incentives and rebates.
