Watkins & Eager is pleased to announce the addition of Karmen Elise Gaines and Anthony R. Anello as new associate attorneys in the firm’s Birmingham office. Both Karmen and Anthony will concentrate their practices in the firm’s general civil litigation practice areas.
Karmen attended the University of Alabama where in 2016 she received a B.A., cum laude, in International Relations. In 2020, she received her J.D. degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, Karmen was a National Semi-Finalist in the 2020 Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition, a participant in the Alabama Trial Advocacy Competition Program, and a member of the executive board of the Black Law Students Association.
Anthony attended Mississippi State University where in 2016 he received a B.A. in Business Administration. During his tenure at Mississippi State, he played on the baseball team. In 2019, Anthony received both a J.D. degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Samford University.
