Watkins & Eager congratulates Emily Slay Walters on being selected for inclusion in the 2018 edition of the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Rising Stars of Law”.  The annual award celebrates local, up-and-coming attorneys under the age of 40. Honorees are selected based on their contributions to their firm, tangible results in their practice areas, and involvement in the community, among other factors.

"We congratulate Emily for her recognition,” said James J. Crongeyer, Jr., Managing Member of Watkins & Eager. “Emily’s good character, dedication to serving her clients and the public interests make her a worthy recipient.”

Emily is an associate at Watkins & Eager.  Her practice focuses on product liability, healthcare litigation, insurance litigation, general tort litigation, and general commercial litigation.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in 2012 and her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law in 2015. At Cumberland, Emily served as the Executive Editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, the nation’s oldest law review dedicated exclusively to the art of trial advocacy.
