Jamie G. Houston III to serve as co-chairman of Secretary of

State Trust Laws Study Group

Jamie G. Houston III has been selected by Secretary of State, Delbert Hosemann, to serve as co-chairman of the Business Reform – Trust Laws Study Group, which is one of several groups established to reform the State's business laws. This particular study group will include the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act that provides modern articulations of the prudence standards for the management and investment of charitable funds and for endowment spending. October 1, 2009 is the target date for completion of the study.

Mr. Houston has practiced law with Watkins & Eager since 1979 and currently serves as the Section Leader of Watkins & Eager's Estate Planning & Administration and Taxation Practice Groups. He holds a Juris Doctor degree in law from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University. He is recognized as a leading attorney in both Chambers USA 2009 and BestLawyers in America 2009.
