Bill Goodman and Anastasia Jones, Commendable Service
The Mississippi Bar bestowed its Lifetime Achievement Award on William F. Goodman, Jr., thereby recognizing one of its most gifted and accomplished members, who began his practice in 1951 at Watkins & Eager, the firm of his grandfather. Bill’s leadership and counsel, while most appreciated by those at Watkins & Eager, is admired far and wide. It is difficult to imagine a more deserving recipient of this award than Bill Goodman.
Anastasia Jones was also honored when she received the Curtis E. Coker Access to Justice Award at the Bar’s annual meeting by the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyer Project. Anastasia had persevered over two years in a custody and child support dispute working pro bono to achieve a just result; the suit arose from an order in another state. Her conscientious efforts justify this distinction and set a model for the profession. Watkins & Eager is rightly proud of Anastasia.
