Watkins & Eager is pleased to announce that Jason L. Poulson and Brian C. Smith are now members of the Firm.

PoulsonJason L. Poulson joined Watkins & Eager in 2006 and practices in the Real Estate and Commercial Lending & Finance Practice Groups. Jason represents developers in all phases of the acquisition, development, financing and disposition of commercial properties, with an emphasis on Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, New Market Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits.  Additionally, he regularly represents borrowers with loans involving the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD/FHA loan programs. Jason also represents various types of financial service providers with respect to the structuring, negotiation and documentation of real estate, construction, asset-backed, and tax credit transactions.  Jason is a 1999 graduate of the University of Virginia and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2003.  Prior to joining the firm, Jason practiced law in Virginia.

SMITHBrian 2005Brian C. Smith received a Bachelor of Accountancy, summa cum laude, in 2000 from the University of Mississippi, where he attended the McDonnell-Barksdale Honors College and received a Taylor Medal.  Brian is a CPA and following graduation, served as a staff auditor for a Big Four accounting firm from 2000 - 2001. He earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 2004 from the University of Mississippi School of Law.  After completing a judicial clerkship with the United States Court of Appeals for Fifth Circuit Judge Rhesa H. Barksdale in 2005, Brian began his legal career at Watkins & Eager, where he specializes in complex litigation relating to banks and insurance companies.
