Susan L. Steffey was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987 and to the Mississippi Bar in 1991. She has extensive litigation and trial experience, including in the fields of mass tort, products liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. She also accepts representation for novel or complex divorce cases and prenuptial agreements. Some of her reported cases include Trustmark National Bank v. Johnson, 865 So.2d 1148 (Miss. 2004); Burnett v. Fulton, 854 So.2d 1010 (Miss. 2003); Sullivan v. Washington, 768 So.2d 881 (Miss. 2000); Ash v. Ash, 877 So.2d 458 (Miss. App. 2003); and Benson v. Benson, 749 So.2d 75 (Miss. 1999). Before joining Watkins & Eager, Susan served as law clerk to the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (1990-1991) and practiced in Tampa, Florida, with the law firm of Sessums & Mason.
